It is a great honour and pleasure to be a part of this glorious municipality for me who signed in the 8th year of establishment. One of the new municipalities in the district, has many changes in this whale and has achieved many milestones. With the help of active cooperation from it citizen this municipality has always emerged as a capable and robust institute for effective delivery of service and better governance. The fever of rapid urbanization has gripped the entire nation and this ULB with its efficient, dedicated workforce has learnt to cope with this fast transition in providing timely service to its citizen. The socio-economic, cultural atmosphere of this municipality has gone for a change, if not completely and it has imbibed that spirit of contemporary modern civilization into its system with open hands.

With the vision to provide basic urban amenities to every household to improve the quality of life, especially the poor and disadvantageous, this ULB has adopted the Government of India scheme, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation (AMRUT). The Service Level Improvement Plan (SLIP) has already been prepared adhering to guideline of AMRUT. At present, the main thrust area of the mission AMRUT is the upgradation of green spaces, development of park and recreation centres, especially for children, the rejuvenation plan includes involvement of local citizens in maintenance and up keep of the park developed. During this financial year 5 no. of parks is to be developed.

The official website for the Online Property Tax Information & Collection System (OPTICS) in West Bengal is the WBUDMA holding tax portal. Property tax for Gram Panchayats is paid through a separate portal.

To apply for or download online birth and death certificates in West Bengal, you must use the official Janma-Mrityu Tathya Portal. All certificates are issued through this system since May 5, 2022.

The Online Building Plan Approval System (OBPAS) is a statewide integrated "Anytime, Anywhere" cloud-based platform for submitting and receiving automated approvals for building and site plans in West Bengal. The system falls under the Department of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and serves as a single-window system for various construction-related permits and No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

A Waris Certificate in West Bengal, also known as a Legal Heir Certificate, is an official document proving the relationship between a deceased person and their legal heirs, essential for claiming the deceased's property, bank accounts, pensions, and other assets. To get one, you apply through the West Bengal e-District portal, starting with a family tree from your local Gram Panchayat or Municipality, followed by online submission, and a field verification by a Revenue Inspector (RI) before the BDO or SDO issues it.
Amader Para Amader Samadhan
"Amader Para Amader Samadhan" (আমাদের পাড়া আমাদের সমাধান), which translates to "Our Neighborhood, Our Solution," is a flagship initiative of the Government of West Bengal aimed at institutionalizing participatory governance and resolving local-level infrastructure issues through community engagement.
Pathashree
"Pathashree" is a flagship road repair and construction scheme launched by the Government of West Bengal to improve both rural and urban road connectivity across the state. The initiative aims to repair over 7,000 road stretches totaling around 12,000 kilometers.
HFA
West Bengal's "Housing for All" involves several schemes, primarily Nijashree (for LIG/MIG with affordable flats and land support) and the central government's PMAY-U (Banglar Bari) for EWS/LIG, plus Banglar Awaas Yojana (BAY) for rural housing (kutcha/dilapidated homes). These programs aim to provide affordable, decent housing for lower-income groups, focusing on urban (Nijashree, PMAY-U) and rural areas (BAY) with subsidies, land provision, and financial assistance.
SWM
West Bengal's Solid Waste Management (SWM) schemes, largely under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) and Swachh Bharat Mission - SBM Urban 2.0 (SBM-U), focus on door-to-door collection, waste segregation (biodegradable/non-biodegradable), decentralized processing units (CPUs) with composting/recycling, and scientific disposal, aiming to create cleaner urban and rural areas through initiatives like e-kart collection and public awareness, guided by national rules and state policies.
Samabyathi
The Samabyathi (or Somobyathi) Scheme in West Bengal provides a one-time financial aid of ₹2,000 to the next of kin or nearest family members of deceased persons from poor families for cremation/burial expenses, covering funeral rites, materials, and transport within West Bengal, aimed at helping those in extreme financial need for these essential ceremonies.
MAA Canteen
The Maa Canteen Scheme in West Bengal provides subsidized, nutritious meals (rice, dal, vegetable, egg curry) to the poor and needy for just ₹5 per plate, with the state government covering the ₹15 subsidy, aiming to combat hunger and malnutrition through community-run kitchens by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Urban Local Bodies across the state. Launched by CM Mamata Banerjee in 2021, it's a key welfare initiative featuring local empowerment and significant state investment, serving millions across various locations, including hospitals and ULBs.
NSAP
The National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) in West Bengal provides social security pensions and benefits to the poor, primarily through sub-schemes like the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension (IGNOAPS), Widow Pension (IGNWPS), and Disability Pension (IGNDPS) for BPL individuals, with West Bengal adding its own 'Banglar Bisesh Bhata' top-up, offering varying amounts (e.g., Rs. 400-1000 for seniors) to beneficiaries in different age/disability groups. The State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) acts as the nodal agency for implementation, covering rural and urban poor with schemes like the National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS) for breadwinner death, aiming to provide a safety net.
NULM
In West Bengal, the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) aims to uplift the urban poor by organizing women into Self-Help Groups (SHGs), providing skills training for jobs, supporting self-employment (like micro-enterprises/vendors), and offering shelters for the homeless, operating across West Bengal's Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) with initiatives like City Livelihood Centers (CLCs) and the state's "MAA" canteen for affordable meals.
National Urban Health Mission (NUHM)
The National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) in West Bengal, launched in 2014, aims to improve health for the urban poor, focusing on slum dwellers by providing accessible quality healthcare via Urban Primary (UPHC) and Community Health Centres (UCHC). Implemented jointly by Health & Family Welfare and Urban Development departments, it offers OPD, diagnostics, immunisation, RCH, and NCD care, involving Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and convergence with other schemes for water, sanitation, and education to tackle urban health challenges.
